All I can say is that it was the right result: the best wrestlers won on the day.

The crucial calls which the ref got wrong were forgivable. However, the 2 refs failed to penalise melbourne once in the entire game for its incessant wrestling, slowing down the play-the-ball, slowly peeling away after 4 in the tackle etc.

It truly was the slowest grand final in history. It is infuriating as a spectator watching one team try to play rugby league, whilst the other team try to wrestle their way to victory. Craig Bellamy deserves credit not for being a great coach, but for successfully sucking all of the life and fun out of rugby league.

I will always remember the 3 point plan to win on the whiteboard in the Melbourne dressing room before a crucial finals match. It stated ‘1. wrestle 2. wrestle 3. WRESTLE’.

The 2000s was the decade which displayed, for the first time, that wrestlers win over rugby league players. And that’s a shame.

with the joke of this finals system, everyone forgets that parra have beaten teams 1, 3 and 2 to get here.. while melbourne have had the luxury of playing teams 4 and 6.. not only that, but they got a week off and both games at home.. what a joke.

parra are gonna be too strong – melbourne will get a shock when they realise that it might be a stroll in the park to get to the GF, but its gonna be a lot harder than that to win the big one..

The fact that the Dragons are gorn is astounding – and even more astounding is the fact that 10 weeks ago, Parra were 100/1 to win the comp, and Bris were about 30/1 – both now in the final 4..

But the McIntyre system has got to go.. It seems like it isn’t changed out of pure laziness… The simple fact is that it’s not fair to have games where teams are playing for different prizes (eg. 1 v 8), and often don’t even know what prize they are playing for (eg. 4 v 5)..

They keep harping on about the fact that you need to give a big advantage to the top 2 – but what makes 2nd so much better than 3rd? or 4th even?Until they find a better solution, go to the AFL system.. The finals system isn’t even discussed in that code – maybe that shows that it’s working?

Firstly, who said that Australia losing the Ashes means we suddenly won’t care about our team???? The only criticism that has been made of our team when we were at our peak was that it became boring BECAUSE we were so good and always won. Won’t this be MORE interesting as we’ll be closer to our opposition?

Secondly, I wouldn’t say Pakistan were a dud touring side, they have some players that are ranked up there as the best batsman going around..

I think hocus pocus is the understatement of the century, the FIFA rankings are nothing short of a joke.
